Now that Chris Bangle is no longer head of design at BMW, he plan on opening his own design studio. According to a report by Automotive News Europe, Klaus Draeger, BMW’s development head said that Bangle is “going to make his own dream come true. He’s going to open is own design studio.”

The only thing BMW said about Bangle’s departure from the automaker was that he left  “to pursue his own design-related endeavors beyond the auto industry.”

Bangle declined to comment on his plans for right now since he will stay in Germany for a little while. Bangle originally started his career at Opel and later moved to Fiat. He joined BMW in 1992.

Although most of Bangle’s work at BMW was controversial, the styling was a huge commercial success for the German automaker.
