The Detroit Auto Show folks have decided to cut one press day off their calendars. Beginning 2010, press conferences will be held on Monday, Jan. 11 and Tuesday, Jan. 12. The North American International Auto Show organizers said that the move will “more efficiently accommodate the 25-30 manufacturer press conferences filled with reveals and news that are held during the NAIAS Press Preview.”
Industry Preview days will remain on Wednesday and Thursday as opportunities for suppliers to visit the show. The show will open to public on Jan 15, in 2010.
Of course this is better for publications since we can now bring you news on a weekday rather than beginning on a Sunday.
