Fiat 500C unveiled prior to Geneva Motor Show

Fiat will take the wraps off of the new Fiat 500C (Fiat 500 Convertible) at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show next month. The mini convertible will go on sale throughout Europe later this spring.


Size wise, the electric-softtop Fiat 500C measures the same as the Fiat 500 hatchback and comes with the same three powetrain options: the 1.3L 75-hp Multijet Turbodiesel mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and the two 1.2L 69-hp and 1.4L 100-hp gasoline engines, available with either manual or Dualogic automatic transmission. The Fiat 500C also features fuel-saving technologies like the new Fiat “Start&Stop” system which allows the engine to stop when shifting to neutral and releasing the clutch, and then restarts when a gear is selected.


The Fiat 500C’s softtop is available in three colors including ivory, red and black, which can be matched to the several body colors of the 500 lineup. Fiat has also introduces to new colors dedicated to the Fiat 500C - a brilliant Pearl Red and Warm Gray.
