Terrafugia starts taking orders for its Flying Car

The world has heard about flying cars being ‘around the corner’ for so long that it now appears to be somewhat like a politician’s promise. But it’s not just Moller’s game, Terrafugia is ready to start selling its very own flying car Transition, at a price of $194,000. The car will not be airborne until 2010, but you can book one for $5000.

Transition runs on gasoline and has regular car tires, which means fuelling and maintenance are not likely to be much of a hustle. Its wings open up when in flight, and fold up when not in use, so you can drive this flier on the roads and put it into the garage easily. We just hope that this isn’t just another “promise”.
